Job Description
Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining and providing a safe environment for the entire operations as it relates to plumbing systems on a daily basis for all local Island Luck branches and related companies. To ensure that all equipment are properly functioning and provide overall support to the Facilities/Maintenance Department.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing and draining systems
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems and fixtures at all facilities
- Perform plumbing system installation at new properties
- Examine previously installed plumbing systems at facilities
- Repair any previously installed systems that require it
- Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc
- Modifies length of pipes, fixtures and other plumbing materials needed for a building
- Usage of saw and pipes cutters as necessary
- Maintain current knowledge of current safety regulations and requirements for the various plumbing systems that a company installs and maintains
- Work carefully to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections by adhering to all current plumbing regulations
- Communicate effectively with team members and coworkers
- Maintain a work log, keep accurate records of time spent, description of work performed and material used at various facilities
- Perform other task assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3+ years’ trade experience as a plumber
- Apprenticeship and or Journeyman certification
Experience/Skills Required
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the plumbing trade
- Good knowledge of various test equipment, building codes, safety regulations and safety practices
- Good working knowledge of water supply, heating and ventilation systems
- Ability to read blueprints and maintenance and repair knowledge
- Familiarity with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron and cooper
- Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings
- Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted
- Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion and measurements
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be well- organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks
