Job Description

Job Summary

Provide a wide range of support to all employees on Family Island locations
troubleshooting issues, maintaining and upgrading hardware and software systems,
ensuring the smooth operation of our company's technology infrastructure. Perform
preventative maintenance on installed equipment, install add on components, set up and
configure new systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
  • Inspect computer hardware (HDD, mouse, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality.
  • Install and configure appropriate hardware and software functions according to specifications.
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
    (when necessary).
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their
    work.
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
  • Identifying and ordering any needed computer or network equipment.
  • Communicate to management when space becomes limited on servers.
  • Perform setup and maintenance on desktops, notebooks, and servers retrieve and deliver by on-site
    technicians.
  • Ensure that all PC and network devices are up to date with the most current installations and upgrades.
  • Supervise creation of utilities for transfer of code, DB2 data and data files between PC and MVS
    platforms.
  • Provide technical support to end-users by phone, email, or in-person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of our company’s technology infrastructure.
  • Travel to Family Island stores when necessary.
  • Any other requests ask by management.
  • Resolve issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in computer science or a related field
  • Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
  • 2+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
