Job Summary
The Warehouse Clerk must demonstrate a robust grasp of inventory management, proficiency in generating quotes for building materials, adeptness in order processing, and a thorough understanding of logistics duties. These skills are pivotal for maintaining precise inventory records, managing quote requests, ensuring prompt fulfillment of customer orders, and coordinating logistics operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage inventory levels and perform regular stock checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Receive incoming shipments, inspect for damages, and update inventory records accordingly.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders for replenishing stock and building materials.
  • Generate and inspect accurate quotes for building materials based on customer requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate prices, place orders, and track delivery schedules.
  • Maintain organized records of inventory levels, orders, quotes, and supplier information.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as sales, logistics, and customer service to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
  • Monitor inventory turnover rates and recommend adjustments to optimize stock levels.
  • Assist in inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and records.
  • Coordinate logistics operations, including scheduling shipments, tracking deliveries, and managing warehouse storage space.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and warehouse procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in inventory management, logistics, or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience working in a warehouse environment with responsibilities in inventory management, order processing, and logistics.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills to calculate quantities, prices, and inventory turnover rates.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software, spreadsheets, and database systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with suppliers, customers, and internal teams effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining inventory records, processing orders, and coordinating logistics operations.
  • Knowledge of building materials, construction industry terminology, quoting processes, and logistics procedures is highly desirable.
